On September 28th, in the framework of the 2nd Consortium Meeting of the project, the LILAMA Network was officially launched during the forum “LILAMA: A Language & Culture Forum for the East of England”, held at Hengrave Hall, Suffolk. During the event, strategy developers, business support agencies, funding agencies from the East of England and other stakeholders involved in the development of linguistic policies and training initiatives oriented towards the needs of the Labour Market provided participants with an up-to-date review of the projects and resources available in relation to language and culture for employment.

Mr. Cruz Martinez from Servicio Navarro de Empleo (SNE, Navarra Region Employment Service in Spain), as LILAMA project lead partner, officially launched the LILAMA Network both in the UK and at a European Level. After introducing the SNE and Navarra's Lingua Empresa Programme, a regional programme for the improvement of the language training provision following an innovative methodology, Mr. Martinez explained the background circumstances that drove the Government of Navarra and all participant entities to develop the LILAMA Network.

 LILAMA's mission is to contribute to the development of successful policy recommendations which will help European regions to raise awareness on the need of acquiring linguistic and cultural skills which will help European regions and companies to become more competitive at a global level.
