Université Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV will present the LILAMA Network at the conference “New Challenges for Multilingualism in Europe”. The conference will be held in Dubrovnik April 11-15th as part of the presentation of research conducted by the LINEE network at the European and national/regional levels of policy making, to the general public and to the public media.

The conference is the final event of two EU-funded projects, LINEE and DYLAN. LINEE - Languages in a Network of European Excellence is a European scientific network of 9 European universities, involving around 80 researchers. It investigates linguistic diversity in Europe. Its four themes of interest include language policy and planning and language and economy. The conference also associates researchers involved in the DYLAN project on language dynamics and management of diversity. Dylan seek to identify the conditions under which Europe's linguistic diversity can be an asset for the development of knowledge and economy.

With an increased awareness of globalisation and European integration, the existing conceptualisations of multilingualism and linguistic diversity have been increasingly questioned, in particular within the humanities and the social sciences. The conference aims at exploring links between theoretical analysis and the dissemination of research results and at providing a platform for the exploration of new perspectives for research in the field of language dynamics and management of diversity. Université Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV expects to disseminate results of the analysis of good practices carried out by the LILAMA network.
