LILAMA Network was presented at the 2nd Edition of the “International Conference Employability & Entrepreneurship”, which was held in Porto, in Portugal, 27-28 September 2010.

The International Employability & Entrepreneurship Conference was organised by the Catholic University of Portugal.

The conference gathered stakeholders from other Higher Education Institutions, researchers, academics, entrepreneurs and companies, alumni and students and the general public. It served as a forum to discuss how employability was becoming part of syllabi across Europe.

Overall, two main approaches can be distinguished, according to employability lecturer Peter Sewell: the bolt-on approach, with employability modules, typically run by university career services, added to core modules, and the embedded approach, with employability being the focus of main subjects.

The conference allowed participants to share how employability concerns were changing the landscape of European universities and to present their various projects regarding employability.

The LILAMA Network attended the Conference and explained its objectives, methods and results.
