The proposed Benchmarking Exercise is based on a unified analysis process that ensures a unique focus of gathering and collecting data as well as an indicator analysis. This exercise will identify good practices at EU level regarding the design and implementation of linguistic training policies oriented to the labour market needs, disseminate and exchange the experiences identified, and develop a Practical Guide to help regions with the future identification and prioritisation of good practices.
The process will assure that the good practices identified will be analysed on a “transfer” basis, that is, Benchmarking Criteria that will allow to assess the quality of the studied cases and their transferability.
It has been agreed to distinguish 3 categories of good practice to be identified:
Good Practice in general Policies and Programmes that include language training aimed at labour market needs.
Good Practice in Language Training Policies.
Good Practice in Training initiatives.
The Benchmarking Method in the framework of LILAMA establishes different definition and criteria for these three categories for the studied cases to be considered good practice, as different aspects need to be addressed in order to assess effectiveness.
